Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today, we gather to honor a man whose voice has been the soundtrack to countless victories, heart-pounding moments, and unforgettable memories here at Sissonville High School. For over two decades, Jerry Throckmorton has been more than just the voice of the Sissonville Indians—he has been the heart and soul of our community, echoing through our athletic fields and halls with unwavering passion and dedication.
Jerry's journey with us began 25 years ago as an educator, where he quickly became a pillar of our school and a mentor to generations of students. His commitment to education is not just about imparting knowledge, but about shaping lives, fostering a sense of purpose, and instilling values that last a lifetime. Jerry has always believed that education extends beyond the classroom—that it’s about building character, nurturing potential, and creating a community where every student feels valued and empowered.
As the voice of the Sissonville Indians, Jerry has brought our games to life, turning every play into a story, every victory into a celebration, and every challenge into a shared experience. His voice has united us—students, parents, alumni, and fans alike—reminding us of the pride we all share in being part of this community.
But Jerry’s impact goes far beyond the microphone. He has been a tireless advocate for our students, our athletes, and our town. He has worked to build bridges between the school and the broader community, ensuring that our athletic programs are not just about winning, but about bringing people together, creating a sense of belonging, and fostering a spirit of camaraderie that extends far beyond the final whistle.
Jerry’s commitment to Sissonville is evident in everything he does. Whether he’s announcing a game, mentoring a student, or volunteering his time, Jerry embodies the very best of what it means to be a part of this community. His dedication, passion, and love for Sissonville are an inspiration to us all.
It is with great pride and deep appreciation that we dedicate this athletic press box to Jerry Throckmorton. May it stand as a symbol of his enduring legacy—a legacy of service, community, and unwavering support for the Sissonville Indians.
Thank you, Jerry, for your 25 years of extraordinary commitment to education, athletics, and the Sissonville community. Your voice has not only called the plays, but has also called us together as one proud, united family.
Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in celebrating and honoring Jerry Throckmorton!
